Google announces $13 billion real estate investment

Sundar Pichai, chief executive officer of Google, announced the new Google commercial real estate investment strategy for this year in Google’s blog post.

According to the company announcement, Google plans over $13 billion real estate investments across the U.S. Google will build new data centers,offices and will expand in 14 states.

These investments are expected to hire tens of thousands of employees and to create more than 10,000 construction jobs in Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia.

Google will continue to expand its presence in Chicago and Washington, will develop new data centers in Ohio ,Nebraska,Nevada and Texas.

”In the last year, we’ve hired more than 10,000 people in the U.S. and made over $9 billion in investments. Our expansion across the U.S. has been crucial to finding great new talent, improving the services that people use every day, and investing in our business,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in a blog post.
