Dream Unlimited Corp. (Dream), a developer of office and residential assets in Toronto, has appointed Deborah Starkman as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective October 5, 2020.
Deborah Starkman was previously Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of GMP Capital Inc., a Canadian independent financial services firm, where she oversaw finance, operations, investor relations, human resources and IT functions at the firm, including all aspects of regulatory and external financial reporting, performance measurement, risk management, liquidity and capital management and tax reporting.
Prior to her appointment in 2012 as CFO, Starkman was Managing Director, Finance, Head of Regulatory Reporting and Risk Management at GMP. Prior to joining GMP, she was Managing Director, Product Finance at the brokerage arm of a major Canadian bank. Ms. Starkman currently serves as a Trustee of Dream Office REIT.
Starkman has a BA in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, and a BComm from the University of Windsor. Starkman is a Chartered Professional Accountant, holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has received the ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
