Warehouse Reit appoints Dominic O’Rourke as non-executive director

Warehouse Reit, a FTSE 350 UK Real Estate Investment Trust, has appointed Dominic O’Rourke as an independent non-executive director, effective immediately.

O’Rourke is currently Group Property Director for FTSE 100 retailer Next plc, a role he has held since 2014, where he oversees Next’s real estate activities across retail and store development, distribution and facilities management. Prior to this, he spent 13 years at Land Securities Group plc, where he was a Director and Retail Executive Committee Member.

”The appointment of Dominic forms part of Warehouse REIT’s board succession strategy, following Martin Meech’s decision not to stand for re-election at the Company’s Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) in order to take up an executive position in the real estate industry,” the REIT said.

Following these changes O’Rourke will join the Audit & Risk and Sustainability Committees and becomes Head of the Management Engagement Committee.

Aimee Pitman, an existing non-executive director, will assume the role of Senior Independent Director.

Neil Kirton, Chairman of the Board of Directors, commented: “Dominic brings highly relevant and deep real estate experience alongside an occupier’s perspective and the Company looks forward to benefitting from his significant experience.

“Martin joined the Board at IPO and has been a highly valued colleague. He has made a significant contribution to our development as a listed company and we wish him well for the future. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank him for all his efforts.”
