Skanska signs £83m contract for London property development

Nordic construction and project development company Skanska said Wednesday that it will build residential and commercial office buildings in London.

Skanska has signed a contract, worth £83 million, with Royal London Asset Management to build The Earnshaw Building in London, UK.

Skanska will construct two separate buildings, one consisting of 18 residential apartments and a 21,400 square meter mixed-use commercial office building.

Both buildings will have retail units located on the ground floor. Skanska will also install the mechanical, electrical, and public health services for the development.

The buildings are targeting environmental accreditations which include BREEAM Outstanding for the commercial office space and BREEAM Excellent for the rest of the development, as well as a WELL Core and Shell Gold certification.

Construction work starts in May 2021 and is expected to complete in December 2022.
