Realterm adds Dutch asset to European transportation logistics portfolio

Realterm has expanded its global transportation logistics real estate platform with the acquisition of Celsiusweg 60 and Newtonweg 23-25, a three-building, 21,049-square-meter intermodal transload facility (ITF) located on a 38,904-square-meter site in Venlo, Netherlands.

The property is fully leased to Seacon Logistics, an international transportation provider, which utilizes the rail terminal adjacent to the property and nearby barge terminal – which is currently being expanded with a planned 2024 completion.

“Venlo is a major pan-European transportation hub in the Netherlands that connects the ports in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp with the western portion of Germany,” said Marieke de Jong, Head of Investments, Benelux, Realterm. “This marks Realterm’s fourth acquisition in the Venlo area and solidifies Realterm as transportation logistics leaders in the Venlo market.”

Located in Venlo Trade Port, the facility has direct access to the A67 highway, the horizontal axis that connects Antwerp and Germany, and to the A73 highway, which is the North-West axis on the Eastern side of the Netherlands.

The combined three properties boast 28 loading docks, 2,240 square meters of office space and 18,809 square meters of warehouse space.

“Venlo is the best-performing logistics hub in the Netherlands, boasting over two million square meters of logistics space, with sub-one percent vacancy rate in the first half of 2023,” said Daniela Quiñones Gómez, Associate, Fund Management, Realterm. “This acquisition is a valuable addition to Realterm’s European portfolio.”
