MEAG buys office building in Amsterdam

MEAG has bought the Strawinskyhuis office building at Prinses Irenestraat 39-43 in a prime location in Amsterdam’s Zuidas office district (south axis) from Egeria & Flow Real Estate.

The property will be completely renovated according to the plans of ZZDP Architecten and is scheduled to be handed over by the general contractor Du Prie Bouwen Ontwikkeling in the first quarter of 2023.

The Strawinskyhuis has a gross floor area of approx. 9,135 square meters of office space and 67 parking spaces. The main tenant is the law firm DLA Piper.

It is planned to have the Strawinskyhuis BREEAM Outstanding “in use” certified. In addition, the property will meet EU taxonomy criteria and be in line with the Paris climate targets. In addition, the WELL Platinum seal of quality is being sought.

The Stravinskyhuis is located in the heart of Zuidas, next to the World Trade Center Amsterdam and the transport hub Amsterdam Zuid.

Katrin Hupfauer, Head of Real Estate Transactions at MEAG: “This top-class office building in a prime location is the focus of our investment focus. Core buildings with long-term income, secured by tenants with good credit ratings, are somewhat decoupled from economic cycles and crises and are therefore suitable for insurance companies ideal for generating stable cash flows. With this transaction, we are achieving the ambitious investment and ESG goals of our institutional investors.”
