Logicor buys 80,000 sqm land plot in Rotterdam

European logistics real estate owner and manager Logicor has acquired an approximately 80,000 sqm land plot in the direct vicinity of Rotterdam.

Logicor purchased the land plot from a private organisation with a view to future extending its portfolio of long-term real estate investments.

The development site is in the municipality of Lansingerland, only 5 kilometres from Rotterdam. The location provides direct access to highways A4, A13 and A16 via ring road A209 and will significantly benefit from infrastructural improvements in the area such as the extension of highway A16 from 2025 and beyond.

Logicor is committed to collaboration with the municipality for this future development and exploring innovative solutions to make the location a green zone and as sustainable, green and carbon neutral as possible.

Ronald van der Waals, Managing Director Northern Europe at Logicor, says: “This is an exciting acquisition which further grows our development pipeline in the Netherlands. What makes it exciting is that the plot is located at a strategic position though currently unzoned, giving us the opportunity to work with the local municipality and actively participate in the spatial and urban planning assumptions for the area. We are convinced that our principles, such as being a force for good with a strong focus on sustainability and liveability, will form the best basis for working in partnership with the municipality and other stakeholders. We are committed to creating communal grounds with all stakeholders for this development plot.”
