Europa Capital has appointed Emilie Bouthors as managing director in Paris.

With almost 20 years of real estate investment management experience, Emilie Bouthors will report to Andy Watson in acting as the portfolio manager for the Europa Diversified Income Fund (EDIF), Europa Capital’s pan-European open ended core fund.

In this role, she will coordinate Europa Capital’s resources, drawing on her extensive experience of communication with Limited Partners. Based in Paris, she will also help drive the growth of Europa Capital’s business in France.

Bouthors joins Europa Capital from Generali Real Estate, where she spent the past five years as a senior fund manager with responsibility for the deployment and performance of one of its pan-European real estate funds, overseeing investment and asset management activities, financial reporting and investor relations.

Before joining Generali, Emilie held senior roles at TIIA Henderson Real Estate and spent almost 10 years at CBRE Global Investors. Emilie holds a MSc in Management, with majors in finance and business strategy, from the HEC School of Management in Paris.

EDIF, with an initial seed portfolio of 15 assets in France, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark, is focused on creating stable and diversified income through investing in residential, logistics and offices. The portfolio is looking to take advantage of the structural changes of innovation and urbanisation in Western Europe by focusing its investment strategy on the logistics and residential sectors, which as a result has provided two thirds of the Fund’s income. Despite the impact of the pandemic, the Fund’s assets remain 97% occupied with a rent collection rate of over 99% in both 2020 and 2021.

Rob Sim, Managing Partner at Europa Capital, commented: “With EDIF continuing to outperform industry benchmarks, Emilie is an excellent addition to our team in Paris as we look to build on its success and grow our European platform. She brings a wealth of valuable experience, having worked on a number of highly complex transactions for leading investors, and is an excellent hire for the firm. Paris is a significant market for Europa Capital and her local knowledge and expertise will be hugely valuable as we continue to grow our presence here.”

Emilie Bouthors added: “Europa Capital has strong ambitions to expand further in the Parisian and French markets, in line with its strategy to grow both geographically across Europe and in terms of product offering.  I look forward to joining Andy in Europa Capital’s Paris office and to working with the wider team to grow the business and continue to deliver excellent client service.”
