Campus Advantage and Stark Enterprises today held a groundbreaking ceremony in Gainesville, Florida on the site where the company will open Liv+ Gainesville — a new student housing property, located near the University of Florida.

Executives from both Campus Advantage and Stark Enterprises joined Gainesville Mayor Lauren Poe to conduct the ceremonial dig and post-ceremony reception.

“Today is an exciting day as we officially break ground on Liv+ Gainesville and get underway with this important first phase of this new development,” said Mike Peter, President, and CEO of Campus Advantage. “We are looking forward to becoming a part of this community and I am confident that our expertise, as well as our exceptional operations team and training programs, will create an environment that exceeds residents’, and this community’s expectations.”

The groundbreaking of Liv+ Gainesville comes on the heels of several recent Campus Advantage student housing property announcements including The Bridge on Forbes, a new Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania student housing community development, which has reached 99% pre-lease for Fall 2019.

Campus Advantage also recently announced it has assumed management of 700 SoHo, a Kalamazoo, Michigan student housing property located near Western Michigan University (WMU), and Moontower, a new luxury student housing development in Austin, Texas near the University of Texas at Austin.

“The groundbreaking of Liv+ Gainesville is just one more example of the positive traction we’re making in the student housing space on both a development and property-management level,” said Peter. “We continue to see great success by not only joining forces with nationally-renowned development partners such as Pinecrest LLC and Stark Enterprises, but by consistently demonstrating our proven expertise in student housing development and property management, which results in a nearly 97% occupancy rate and the company being sought after as a property manager of choice.”

When completed, Liv+ Gainesville will be a four-story, 279,075 square foot apartment-style student housing complex. The property will include a range of room options, from studios to six-bedroom, six-bathroom suites, for a total of 235 units and 618 beds. Property amenities will include a fitness wing (featuring a cardio room, free weight room, and boxing equipment), a mini market with fresh snack and drink options, a coffee bar/lounge, study rooms on each floor to encourage private and small group study sessions, pool and courtyard, and dog park. Each room and rate will also include modern furnishings, trash service, internet, water, and sewer.

Liv+ Gainesville will be located 4/10th of a mile from inner campus and provides students with the opportunity to link both their school and social life. It is expected to be completed in Fall 2020 and will be managed by Campus Advantage.
