The Bouwinvest Dutch Residential, Office and Retail Funds, attracted a total of € 364 million in new institutional capital commitments in the second-half of 2018, from existing and new institutional investor clients.
Karen Huizer, Director Client Management at Bouwinvest, said: “The strong growth in capital commitments to Bouwinvest’s funds in the second-half of last year, show that more and more institutional investors are coming to appreciate the positive attributes of core real estate, including its relatively low risk, long-term stable returns and function as an inflation hedge, as well as the vital social impact role investment in bricks and mortar plays in our urban landscapes. These encouraging results take Bouwinvest closer to achieving its goal of reaching a total of € 15 billion in invested capital by 2021.”
The Office Fund received a total of € 223 million from existing and new investors. Dutch insurer Achmea Schadeverzekeringen is the latest new investors in the Office Fund. The Residential Fund received € 115 million in commitments from existing and new investor clients in H2. The total invested capital of the Residential Fund now stands at € 5.7 billion and the Office Fund at € 800 million. An existing client raised its investment in the Retail Fund by € 26 million. The total invested capital in the Dutch Retail Fund hit € 1.0 billion at the end of 2018.
