BentallGreenOak buys industrial assets in Canada

BentallGreenOak (BGO) has announced the acquisition of Buildings 1, 2 and 3 of the Henday Industrial Park, located in Edmonton, AB, on behalf of Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The industrial assets, totaling 618,000 sq. ft., are strategically located in Northwest Edmonton next to two of the largest transportation routes in the city offering efficient distribution access to Greater Edmonton and Alberta’s key north/south distribution corridor.

This acquisition further diversifies Sun Life’s Edmonton industrial holdings to now include additional exposure in the Northwest region of the city.

“We are very happy to be able to continue to execute on our strategy of expanding BGO’s industrial footprint in response to the acceleration of ecommerce and the growing importance of modern, well-situated logistics centres in Canada,” said Michael Fraidakis, Managing Director at BentallGreenOak. “This acquisition in the Henday Industrial Park adds best-in-class assets to Sun Life’s strong, national industrial portfolio.”

Constructed in 2015, the three buildings feature high quality characteristics including mid and large-bay industrial units, 32’ clear heights, modern metal panel construction and ample trailer stalls and tenant parking.
