AshbyCapital has fully let The Colmore Building, its grade A office building in Birmingham’s city centre, following the signing of four leases.
Relaunched by AshbyCapital in 2016, after a £3.5m enhancement programme, The Colmore Building comprises 314,000 sq ft of Grade A office space over 14 storeys. In what is the most significant transaction this year in the Birmingham market, Irwin Mitchell Solicitors have taken the final space available at the building, signing a lease on the seventh and ninth floors, comprising 46,750 sq ft in total.
Global flooring company, Interface, has taken 7,589 sq ft on the tenth floor following the signing of a new lease.
Two existing tenants have expanded their presence at The Colmore Building. Multinational engineering firm, Aecom, which occupies the entire first floor at the building, has taken an additional 11,455 sq ft on the eleventh floor.
Ashby has also agreed a new lease with law firm Freeths, an existing tenant that has taken an additional 6,817 sq ft on the third floor, almost doubling its space in the building.
Irwin Mitchell and Interface will join an array of global tenants including Chubb, Allianz, Investec, Grant Thornton, Hogan Lovells, Rathbones and Willis Towers Watson.
The building offers Birmingham’s broadest range of amenities with a state-of-the-art gym, treatment rooms, bicycle parking, luxury changing rooms and a drying room, as well as a new private GP room and a recently expanded coffee house branded &More Coffee House.
Peter Ferrari, CEO at AshbyCapital, said: “It’s a real achievement to be celebrating this milestone at The Colmore Building and a vote of confidence from new and existing tenants in the high-quality working environment we have created here. The Colmore Building has been Birmingham’s best performing building in terms of lettings over the last 18 months and this strong performance completes our vision to bring a new standard of workplace to the Birmingham market.
“The Colmore Building is undoubtedly one of the city’s most exciting office addresses, and we are delighted to welcome Irwin Mitchell and Interface to the building. We look forward to seeing them thrive here alongside our existing tenants.”
Sarah Ball, Operations Director, at Irwin Mitchell, said: “We are excited to be moving to a new location in Birmingham’s city centre.
