AEW buys urban logistics asset in Paris for pan-European fund

AEW has purchased a 4,500m² urban logistics asset in Paris on behalf of Logistics fund, its specialist pan-European logistics strategy.

Situated in the heart of Paris’ 12th district with direct access to the Paris ring road and other inner city routes, the logistics asset benefits from access to a large catchment of 5 million consumers living less than 30 minutes away by bike and car.

Delivery flows from this asset will be operated predominantly via green transport methods, with electric charging points installed.

The asset is fully occupied by La Belle Vie, the online food retailer in Paris area, which is using the entire space as a local distribution facility serving the French capital.

Ludovic Bernini, Fund Manager of Logistis, commented: “We continue to see no let-up in demand for best-in-class urban logistics space driven by continued changes to consumer behaviour. These structural drivers support our decision to both acquire this extremely well-located distribution centre and to continue seeking investment opportunities in operating assets as well as bringing forward the development of state-of-the-art logistics schemes across Europe with our partners, building on our 20-year track record of delivery for the Logistis Fund.”
