Orchard Street buys multi-let industrial estate in Kent

Commercial property investment manager Orchard Street Investment Management has made the first deal on behalf of its flagship impact fund, The Orchard Street Social and Environmental Impact Partnership, by acquiring Euroway Trade Park, a multi-let industrial estate in Aylesford, Kent.

Orchard Street will transform the sustainability credentials of the asset which spans almost 90,000 sq ft across seven units through a programme of active asset management to refurbish the space.

The manager will focus on low embodied carbon refurbishments, solar PV installation and increasing the air quality and thermal efficiency of the space, alongside upgrading the EPC ratings to A and A+ from the current C to E ratings. In line with our social objectives, we will also provide a local apprenticeship programme for each refurbishment.

The acquisition follows the first close of Orchard Street’s impact fund in November last year, which secured cornerstone investment from Brunel Pension Partnership Limited , one of the UK’s Local Government Pension Scheme Pools.

The Fund is targeting value-add real estate investment opportunities with the potential to generate a measurable social and environmental impact, via the decarbonisation of buildings, investing in local communities, and improving the health and wellbeing of building users and the local population.
